Who we are
We are a multidisciplinary group at the interface of pharmaceutical technology, chemistry and biomedical applications. Our research applies on the development of continuous manufacturing processes, nanotechnology and medical devices. Briefly the current work focuses on:
3D printing and bioprinting
3D printing of complex geometries of paediatric oral dosage forms using a range of printing technologies (FDM, SLS). Bioprinting various structures using novel bioniks for would healing applications.
Continuous extrusion processes
Development of Continuous Hot Melt Extrusion and Extrusion Granulation processes for the manufacturing of solid dispersions, pharmaceutical cocrystals, salts and granules.
Medical devices
Optimising drug eluting stents for coronary artery diseases using inkjet and 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA). Microneedle arrays for transdermal delivery of anticancer drug agents and a wide range of molecules.
Nanotechnology
Engineering of novel drug delivery systems for cancer imaging and treatment (liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles, mesoporous silica nanoparticles and conjugated quantum dots).
